Mamatoto CBEs improves maternal healthcare in communities by providing essential childbirth education and support to expectant and underserved families.
In Kenya, the maternal mortality rate remains alarmingly high at 594 deaths per 100,000 live births, particularly in rural and urban slum areas where access to healthcare is limited. Many mothers do not receive timely care from skilled attendants, increasing the risk of complications.
At Mamatoto CBEs, we are committed to changing this narrative. The women must also rise and play their roles. Pregnant women can educate themselves about their birthing options and processes, allowing them to make informed decisions that align with their preferences and the state of the pregnancy. Mamatoto comes in to support this through childbirth education classes, doula/ childbirth companion- support, and access to professional healthcare, we empower women with the knowledge and services they need to navigate pregnancy safely, and childbirth.
Your generous donation will save a mother and a child who will reach an equipped health facility timely. A mother and baby at a time.

In Kenya, many new mothers lack the knowledge and support needed to breastfeed effectively, leading to poor infant nutrition and higher risks of diseases and malnutrition.
We offer breast/chestfeeding classes and counseling, helping mothers understand the importance of early breastfeeding and proper nutrition. By educating and supporting mothers in the first critical weeks, we reduce neonatal complications, malnutrition, and mortality hence promoting healthier futures for babies.
Comprehensive reproductive health education is vital in preventing complications during pregnancy and childbirth, yet many women in Kenya remain uninformed, especially in rural and slum communities.
Mamatoto delivers evidence-based reproductive health education on antenatal care, birth preparedness, and postpartum recovery after delivery, miscarriage, or abortion.
We empower women with the information they need to make informed decisions, improving both maternal and child health outcomes.

Women in Kenya’s slums and rural areas face multiple barriers to receiving adequate maternal healthcare, including poverty, social stigma, and a lack of resources.
Mamatoto CBEs focus on these marginalized groups, providing accessible maternal health services and education. Our outreach programs ensure that even in the most underserved areas, women receive the care and support they deserve.
The first six weeks after birth is a critical time for ensuring newborn and maternal survival and for supporting the healthy development of the baby as well as the mother’s overall mental and physical recovery and well-being. Postnatal care is often overlooked, leaving many new mothers to cope with the challenges of postpartum recovery and mental health issues such as postpartum depression.
Mamatoto CBEs provide comprehensive postnatal services, including momcare, baby care, breastfeeding, cord care, nutrition, recovery, and bereavement counseling, to support both the physical and mental well-being of new mothers. We ensure that no mother has to face the postpartum period alone.
